This double degree combines the specialist finance knowledge necessary for success in the finance industry with an interdisciplinary overview of issues related to international business, and how these issues influence the global economy.

Our Master of Financial Analysis is an ideal route to internationally recognized professional careers in finance. You'll develop or extend your professional skills in finance and gain a broad understanding of economics, accounting, management and quantitative methods.

We've developed the Master of Financial Analysis course in collaboration with business and professional associations, particularly CFA Institute. This means you'll graduate with the professional skills needed to gain entry into a range of challenging and rewarding careers in the financial sector.

The Master of International Business (MIB) provides an education in the essential techniques of international business management, keeping a balance between academic rigour and exposure to a wide range of practical experiences in the various aspects of international management.

As a graduate you'll be ready for a high-level career in investment, banking and finance roles both locally and overseas. This could include export/import companies, joint ventures, and public sector areas involved in international trade and conglomerates with subsidiaries reaching around the globe.

Seminars and lectures are held at our Melbourne Campus. While most classes are held during the day, some are held outside work hours and in block mode.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognized in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9.

The Master of International Business (MIB) provides an education in the essential techniques of international business management, keeping a balance between academic rigor and exposure to a wide range of practical experiences in the various aspects of international management.

The MFA will give you the essential skills for high-level careers in the financial sector including roles in investment and asset management, banking, corporate finance and financial management.

Our graduates have moved into roles such as Senior Investment Officer, Finance Executive and Business Analyst. They are employed by companies in Australia and around the world including PwC, Telstra, KPMG, ANZ and EY (formerly Ernst & Young).

Professional recognition

Graduates of the Master of Financial Analysis/Master of International Business may be eligible to apply for registration with the CFA Institute. Professional registration may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details. Graduates of the Master of International Business may apply for membership with Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML). The minimum entry requirement is successful completion of an Australian Bachelor degree (or its equivalent). Prior learning developed through relevant work experience or professional accreditation, where it is deemed to be at least equivalent to that obtained through a Bachelor degree, may be considered. In making an offer to an applicant, the University will give consideration to a range of factors to determine whether an applicant has demonstrated the capacity to work at a Master's level, including academic record, English proficiency, and/or employment experience. (Optional) The Bachelor degree (or equivalent) must be deemed cognate to gain entry to a 1.5 year Master degree, otherwise, the applicant will be considered for a 2 year Master degree program.

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic) - Overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper based - Overall score of 575 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT) - Overall 79 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing; Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE) - Overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50; Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 176 with no less than 169 in any component; Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) - 176 with no less than 169 in any component.
