Career opportunites and access to further studies

The international demand for employees who are specialised in aerospace is growing significantly. This is also expected to reflect in the national demand. The skills, knowledge and knowhow developed in the masters by research programme is of direct relevance to the overall aerospace sector. Therefore the degree will provide value to graduates seeking employment in areas ranging from airline operations, air vehicle design or aircraft maintenance. The student will also develop the academic, technical and professional skills that will enable him/her to further his/her studies in the field at a doctoral level.

The Course shall be open to applicants in possession of a first cycle degree in Engineering or Science, or in any other area of study which the Board considers as appropriate, obtained with a Second Class Honours or Category II classification in the ten years previous to registration for the Course.

Applicants may be asked to demonstrate competence in those skills required by the nature of the proposed research via an extended interview and the submission of appropriate documentation,
