To study Graduate Diploma in Business (Level 7), you can choose from the following two options (Generic pathway Or Internship pathway).

Please note that both options have different entry requirements (see below).

To be awarded the Graduate Diploma in Business (Level 7), you must achieve all the courses for the chosen Option.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements - Generic pathway

Applicants for this programme must have:

– A Bachelor Degree, or Equivalent professional experience

– English Proficiency: IELTS academic score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 or equivalent (please see the table for detail)

Entry Requirements - Internship pathway

Students with a business/applied business/commerce or management undergraduate degree (or relevant work experience) will be interviewed by an NZIBT senior lecturer to ascertain whether they have the necessary background in marketing, finance, applied management and have the necessary English language skills, to be accepted into the Industry Project and Professional Practice Level 8 courses.

This pathway will see them complete three Level 7 courses:

71338: Managing Change
71340: Strategic Management
71353: Project Management

as their semester 1 programme of study (60 credits); and then proceed into the 2-x level 8 courses in semester 2 (60 credits).

Programme Aim and Outcome

The Graduate Diploma in Business is designed for people who have an undergraduate degree, from any discipline area, who want to develop knowledge and skills in business related fields of study.

The programme will give the student applied business education, within a New Zealand context. The programme will explicitly connect the student to the global business labour market need (especially New Zealand’s long-term skill shortage and skill migrant categories) in line with NZIBT’s stated strategy.

New Zealand Living Expenses

In addition to your tuition and insurance fees, you will need between $20,000 and $25,000 per year ($380–480 per week) for accommodation/rent, food expenses, transportation costs, phone bills, internet usage and entertainment. No matter what your tuition or course fee is, the average living expense will be same for everyone. Please note that these amounts are just recommendations, Immigration New Zealand requirement is $15,000 per year plus return airfare or additional $2,000.
