Growth and innovation within the world’s financial markets has heightened the demand for highly skilled professionals in areas such as investment management, investment banking, pension funds, insurance companies, securities, stock broking and trading in equities, bonds and derivatives.

The course aims to provide a solid grounding in the main components and theoretical foundations that underpin modern investment and risk management techniques. We aim to deepen your understanding of the impact of the changing global environment and the context within which investment managers and organisations operate.

In-depth analysis of specialist areas includes: equity and bond valuation, duration and convexity; bond portfolio immunisation; capital asset pricing models; arbitrage pricing theory models; financial derivatives; trading techniques; asset-liability management; alternative investments; venture capital and management of foreign exchange.

The emphasis is on interpreting, evaluating and communicating financial information to support strategic decision making. We’ll teach you how to analyse potential investment assets and how to select appropriate assets for a portfolio based on relevant valuation methodology, economic drivers and the agreed risk tolerance of clients or sponsors.
