You should consider this course if you are a nurse or midwife with a degree who wishes to pursue a career in health visiting or school nursing.

Health visitors and school nurses lead on the delivery of progressive universal services to improve the life chances of children, young people and their families.

Our one year postgraduate course is suited to qualified nurses and midwives who already hold a degree and wish to undertake the specialist community public health nursing course at the higher academic level. During the year you will develop the knowledge and skills required to deliver a range of services including prevention, early intervention and safeguarding for children aged 0-19 and their families. These are set within the context of local community and contemporary national policy.

We deliver this course in partnership with local community healthcare organisations. It is intended to meet the needs and expectations of the contemporary public health agenda so you can make a difference to the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Our course leads to a nationally recognised qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Academic Entry Requirements

Postgraduate Degrees (Master's)

For entry to our Master's programmes, you will need to have met the following:

  • Four year bachelor degree with a minimum of 55% in Final Year for UK 2:2 OR 65% for UK 2:1(50% for UK 2:2 OR 60% for UK 2.1 from top University:Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Osmania, JNTU)
  • 70% in English in Standard XII or English language requirements
