About Columbia College

Founded in 1936, Columbia College is Canada’s oldest independent international college. For more than 80 years, the College has prepared thousands of students for success at universities across Canada and the United States. Located in a brand new modern education facility near downtown Vancouver, Columbia College offers first and second-year university level courses that can lead to a Columbia College Associate Degree and are fully transferable to local universities. Columbia College also offers High School programs, including a British Columbia Ministry of Education Certified Senior Secondary Program and an English for Academic Purposes Program that is accredited by Languages Canada.

The College is located on the territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the Musqueam, Squamish, Stó:lō, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Students enjoy the stunning natural beauty of Vancouver, one of the most spectacular cities in the world, as well as one of its cleanest and safest. Despite the modern urban setting of the city itself, Vancouver is enveloped in a natural setting of extraordinary mountains, lush forested areas and the North Pacific Ocean.

Columbia College’s Main Campus is a five-storey, 73,000 square foot building just east of Vancouver’s downtown core at 438 Terminal Avenue. The building provides well-equipped facilities to students and staff, including science laboratories (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Physics), a library, and student lounges. The Main Campus is inspired by the adjacent railway yard as an important facet of Canadian history and Vancouver’s historic urban landscape. The North Campus serves the Columbia College High School and English for Academic Purposes students, and is well-equipped with essential facilities that enable a successful learning environment. Within minutes, students can access the Skytrain and Olympic Village, as well as the scenic False Creek seawall.
