About Kwantlen Polytechnic University

Public university Kwantlen Polytechnic University was founded in 1981 after separating from Douglas College. There are 1,400 academic staff members and 20,000 students overall. It is one of the largest institutions in British Columbia, Canada, in terms of enrollment, with a total of 5 sites serving the Metro Vancouver region. More than 120 different fields of study are covered by the university's several bachelor's, certificate, associate, diploma, apprenticeship, and citation programmes. For employees and skilled technicians, there are many vocational programmes available, including those in accountancy, engineering, nursing, business administration, architecture, criminology, and medicine. But for undergraduates, it functions more or less like a polytechnic institution. The university attained autonomy in 1995. It is the only polytechnic university in Canada. Over 50,000 alumni from the college are officially registered globally.

On October 24, 2008, the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) appointed KPU (Kwantlen Polytechnic University) as a member. They are also affiliated with the Canadian Bureau for International Education, the Colleges and Institutes of Canada (CICan), the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), the International Association of Universities (IAU), and the Canadian University Press (CUP) (CBIE). The university was ranked first among post-secondary institutions in Canada in terms of enrollment by The Globe and Mail Canadian University Report.

It received high marks, ranging from A to B, in categories like student satisfaction, teaching and learning, career preparation, and information technology. The college was ranked among the top Canadian institutions for educational methods, educational quality, and student participation in the national study on student engagement. The primary campuses are KPU Tech (Cloverdale), KPU Langley, KPU Richmond, KPU Surrey, and KPU Civic Plaza, all of which are situated in British Columbia's Lower Mainland. The university also provides training for organic farmers.

In several degree programmes, including the Bachelor of Arts, Business Administration, Technology, and certificate programmes, Kwantlen offers cooperative education. In addition to their regular studies, students are required to complete work placements during the semesters that are specifically designated for them. Along with acupuncture and conventional Chinese medicine, they also possess a Brewing Diploma, which is distinctive in and of itself. Together with upgrading classes, they also provide free English language studies. The minors in medicinal chemistry and indigenous community justice are available to the students.

The online tutoring allows for a flexible lesson schedule. On campus, there are additional chances for employment and volunteerism. Bursaries and other types of financial aid are provided by the college. There is a shuttle service between the campuses. Lekeyten, an Elder in Residence at the KPU from the Kwantlen First Nation, is a part of support programmes for Aboriginal students.
