About Mohawk College

Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology is a public university that was founded in the Ontario port city of Hamilton in 1966. It is a member of the Association of Community Colleges of Canada and is fully accredited and sponsored by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities (ACCC).

Four campuses in Hamilton—Stoney Creek Campus, Fennell Campus (Hamilton Mountain), the Institute for Applied Health Sciences (McMaster University), and City School—are where the college offers academic programmes (Eva Rothwell Centre). On the Fennell campus, the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Center has three gymnasiums, a fitness centre, and a multipurpose studio. It also offers meeting rooms, socialising places, and outdoor basketball and beach volleyball facilities. A massage treatment and health centre that offers regular therapy and wellness services, health education, and medical services is a component of the campus. The Language and Culture Centre and Social Inc. are the places where people may interact socially, learn about other cultures, and take part in a variety of events and activities.

Cummings (Fennell), IAHS (McMaster), and Stoney Creek Campus Library are the three libraries that make up the college library system. Each of these libraries has a TECH BAR to support the technology needed for learning, studying, collaborating, and producing. The other locations for research, creation, cooperation, and experimental learning leveraging contemporary technologies are the Digital Creativity Centre and Collaboratories. With access to the kitchen, laundry, cleaning, and online maintenance application services, the college's campus offers 170 suites. Students get access to the campus cafeteria as well as the game and movie lounges. Programs in business, health sciences, communication, media, entertainment, community service, engineering and technology, preparatory, and urban studies are offered by Mohawk College's five faculties.

More than 145 continuing education courses, over 100 full-time certificate, diploma, and degree programmes, as well as a number of part-time programmes and apprenticeship programmes, are all available to students through the institution. The college's highly educated faculty helps students prepare for careers through classroom instruction, visits to businesses, internships, and training opportunities. Each year, more than 3,000 students take part in co-op work terms that can last anywhere from four to sixteen months. In addition to this, the college also runs a radio station called 101.5 The Hawk and a digital student newspaper called ignitenews.ca.

Distinguished names like Dominic Agostino (politician), Annette Hamm (Canadian reporter and news anchor), Jillian Barberie (actress, TV host), Brad Clark (politician), Master T (former MuchMusic VJ, TV and radio personality), Alex Pierson (Canadian broadcaster), and Joey Muha are among the more than 120,000 alumni of Mohawk College who live all over the world (YouTube Content Creator and Professional Drummer). The Alumni Association presents its alumni with a variety of honours and benefits. It also plans a lot of activities to honour graduates and facilitate their interaction with the college's current students.
