About Olds College

Olds College is an Alberta public post-secondary institution located in Olds, Alberta, established in 1913 as Olds Agricultural College. The college opened its first satellite campus in Calgary in 2006 in partnership with the Calgary Stampede Board. Olds College has been offering quality hands-on education for over a century. A distinct, provincially focused institution that supports the teaching and learning of all Albertans, the college  provides  accessible educational opportunities within Alberta and beyond. Olds College has known for being  passionate about the Agriculture industry. Through applied research and integrated learning, the college is  proud to be Canada’s Smart Agriculture College, specializing in agriculture, horticulture, land and environmental stewardship.

Olds College Campus

Olds College has two campuses. The main campus, located on the eastern edge of the township of Olds, accommodates the majority of enrolled students. 

Olds College Teaching Quality

Following the successful completion of their probationary period, faculty members will participate annually in an interim performance review process.

 Course/ Instruction Evaluations (conducted according to Appendix 1) and the Faculty Member Goal Planning Guide will be used to discuss the past and upcoming years’ activities, goals and performance. b. Following each three academic years of service, faculty members will participate in a comprehensive performance review. 

This will involve a presentation and discussion of the instructional goals. More frequent reviews may be conducted with the mutual consent of the faculty member and the Dean. It is the responsibility of the Dean to schedule the evaluation of each member. 

The member will provide physical or electronic artefacts that demonstrate the faculty member’s efforts to address some of the criteria contained in the Guidelines for Quality Instruction .
