About University of Dundee

Dundee University is a public research university based in Dundee. Established in 1881, it became a college of the University of St Andrews in 1897. In 1967, the university obtained an independent University status and in 2017 celebrated 50 years of independence as university.

Over the years the university has merged with Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Northern College of Education and Fife and Tayside Schools of Nursing.

University of Dundee is the University of the Year for Student Experience (Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020) and is one of the top 30 universities in the United Kingdom (The Guardian University Guide 2020).

The Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design is one of the top classified art schools in the UK, while the University of Dundee School of Medicine ranks among the top 5 in the UK. According to the Guardian University Guide 2020, Dundee is also 1st in Scotland and 4th in the UK for Law.

The University is home to around 16,500 students and more than 3,000 employees, helping make Dundee a truly student-friendly city. Over a quarter of its staff and students come from over 140 nations.

University of Dundee Campus

City Campus-The main campus is located within the City of Dundee's West End, close to city center.

Kirkcaldy Campus-The School of Nursing and Health Sciences has a campus on Forth Avenue, Kirkcaldy, Fife. It offers degrees in Nursing, Midwifery and other health related subjects. Placements are available at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
