Academy of Art University is a private institution that was founded in 1929. This university with a profit motive was formerly known as the Academy of Art College. Richard S. Stephens established it as the School of Advertising Art. 1933 saw the introduction of a course in fashion illustration, followed by the establishment of the Fine Art department in 1936. The graduate course was introduced in 1977, and it was approved in 1983. The WASC Senior College, the National Architectural Accrediting Board, the University Commission, and the Council for Interior Design Accreditation have officially accredited this university.

The university accepts applications online and the payment of the application fees can be done through Flywire, money order, check, or online through deceit or credit card. All the documents must be translated into English before submitting them to the university.

Applicants are also required to pay a registration fee of 50 USD, an international student service fee of 300 USD, and a tuition deposit of 2,500 USD.

TOEFL and IELTS scores are not required for international students. The evaluation of English language proficiency is done on the applicant’s arrival.
