About Arizona State University (ASU)

The Thirteenth Territorial Legislature established Arizona State University (ASU) in 1885 as Territorial Normal School to provide education in mechanical arts and agriculture. It was eventually called Arizona State Teachers College, then Arizona State College, and then Arizona State College again in 1945. It was voted Arizona State University by the people in 1958, with a 2-to-1 margin of victory. The university now has a number of schools, colleges, centres, and institutions that provide instruction in a variety of subjects. It also has the Higher Learning Commission's seal of approval (HLC).

Arizona State University has five campuses located throughout the city of Phoenix. College of Nursing and Health Innovation, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, College of Health Solutions, Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, College of Integrative Arts and Sciences, Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and College of Public Service and Community Solutions are all located on the Downtown Phoenix campus. The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Sustainability, and School for the Future of Innovation in Society are all located on the Tempe campus, which is the university's first and largest.The university's different colleges and institutions provide a variety of degree programmes on the west campus. It's recognised for its beautifully built entry gates, Fletcher Lawn, and a large collection of public art.

The Polytechnic campus, which is located on the old Williams Air Force Base location, provides degrees in management, engineering, education, integrative sciences, and technology. ASU California Centre in Santa Monica, Barrett and O'Connor Centre in Washington DC, Thunderbird Campus, and ASU Online are among the university's other properties. Mayo Clinic and ASU partnered to develop the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.
