About Boise State University

Boise State Institution is a public, urban research university that was founded in 1932 as Boise Junior College. Boise State College was established in 1969 as part of the state's higher education system. The Graduate College was founded in 1971, and the institution was renamed Boise State University in 1974 after the addition of new graduate programmes. The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities has granted it accreditation.

Boise State University is a pioneer in the United States and around the world, whether it's through new research and academic courses or quick development and re-imagining higher education. Their enormous metropolitan campus is located on the Boise River's west bank, just minutes from Boise, Idaho's capitol and largest city.

More than 26,000 students from all 50 states and more than 60 countries attend classes on the campus. Boise is the quintessential college town, with art and culture, athletics, adventure, and a fascinating nightlife. The Albertsons Library and the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts are two more significant campus attractions. The main performance hall seats 2000 people and hosts a variety of fine arts productions, including concerts, Broadway in Boise series, and other events. Micron Technology, which has its headquarters in Boise, contributed $25 million to establish the Micron Center for Materials Research.

The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education has recognised Boise State University as a doctorate research institution. Students can study public health, raptor research, musical performance, educational technology, hydrologic sciences, civil engineering, and almost 200 other subjects at Boise State. 12 doctoral degrees, 68 master's degrees, 24 graduate certificates, 90 bachelor's degrees, 4 associate degrees, and 37 undergraduate certificates are available at the university.
