El Camino College, which was founded in 1947, is a public university. It is located in Alondra Park, an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County. This university's 26 acres of land contain 37 buildings. The area is close to Torrance. The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), a division of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, has accredited the college. 2016 marked the full accreditation of the institution.

The college's methodology is multidisciplinary and to the point. Behavioral & Social Sciences; Business; Career Education; Fine Arts; Health Sciences & Athletics; Humanities; Industry & Technology; Learning Resources; Mathematical Sciences; and Natural Sciences. It has nine large academic divisions with over seventy-five academic programmes.
