Fairfield University is a private Jesuit institution founded by the Society of Jesus in 1942 and located in Fairfield, Connecticut. The university is proud to have been disseminating knowledge for the past 78 years, and its curriculum offers over 43 majors and 19 minors for students to choose from. The university ensures that students realise their full creative and intellectual potential while enrolled.

The Catholic school employs a semester-based academic calendar and requires above-average high school grades for admission consideration. They must have a GPA above 3.65. However, students with higher SAT and ACT scores can compensate for a lower GPA.

Four undergraduate schools and colleges at Fairfield University offer a vast array of courses taught by nationally and internationally renowned faculty. Through its five schools and colleges, the institution confers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees: the Charles F. Dolan School of Business, the Fairfield University College of Arts and Sciences, the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions, the Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies, and the School of Engineering.

The university provides 43 undergraduate majors and 19 minors, in addition to 41 graduate programmes. The most popular undergraduate majors are Accounting, Biology, Communication, English, Finance, Marketing, Nursing, and Psychology.

Several academic and spiritual centres, including the Center for Faith and Public Life, the Center for Catholic Studies, the Center for Ignatian Spirituality, and the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Center for Judaic Studies, are located on university grounds.

The alumni of Fairfield University are numerous and notable. Among them is retired Global Vice Chair, Talent at Ernst & Young, Nancy A. Altobello. Donatella Arpaia, renowned cook and television personality, Laura Bremer, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Citizen Relations, Sheila Kearney Davidson, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of New York Life Insurance Company, and Dr. Roni DeLuz, Founder and Director of the Martha's Vineyard Holistic Retreat, are two prominent figures in the holistic health industry. Joseph DiMenna, hedge fund manager and managing director at Zweig-DiMenna Associates, is the author of this article. Paula Donovan is an AIDS and women's rights activist, William P. Egan is the founder of Alta Communications, Douglas W. Hammond is the chairman and chief executive officer of NFP, and Katherine N. Lapp is the executive vice president of Harvard University.
