About Harding University

Harding University began as a junior institution in 1924, when two junior colleges, Arkansas Christian College and Harper College, united to form Harding College. James A. Harding, co-founder and first president of Nashville, was the inspiration for the college's name. He was a Christian education teacher and evangelist.

Harding University is located in the Arkansas town of Searcy. Harding Institution, which is affiliated with the Churches of Christ, is the state's largest private university. Around 4,879 students attend the university, representing 49 states and 55 countries and territories. There are approximately 370 highly competent faculty members, with 255 holding a Ph.D. or other terminal degree. The university's slogan is "Community of Mission." Furthermore, its purpose is to give a high-quality education that will aid in the development of a Christian-based knowledge and philosophy of life. The campus is 350 acres in size and has roughly 47 buildings.

In its colleges of Allied Health, Arts and Humanities, Bible and Ministry, Business Administration, Education, Honors, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Sciences, Harding provides 10 undergraduate degrees in more than 100 academic majors, 14 preprofessional programmes, and 21 graduate and professional degrees.

In the year 2011, the College of Allied Health was founded. It offers high-quality education and practical experience in health-care-related fields. Students that are engaged in analysis and problem-solving will thrive in the College of Arts and Humanities. The College of Bible & Ministry teaches students about Christianity, as well as how to understand and serve God's world. Business professionals are prepared at the Paul R. Carter College of Business Administration. The Cannon-Clary College of Education is committed to providing professional learners with the tools they need to enable and inspire people they serve. Carr College of Nursing offers professional nursing education. The College of Pharmacy strives to graduate pharmacists who guarantee that patients receive the best possible drug therapy. Behavioral sciences, biology, chemistry, and other academic programmes are available in the College of Science. The Honors College is committed to helping students enhance their intellectual standards, independent thinking, and logical analysis while also strengthening their faith in God.

The university has a number of objectives, including the advancement of Christian study, the promotion of Christian ethics, the promotion of global citizenship, and so on. Student-led social groups are sponsored by the institution and aid in social networking and engagement among students. It is also a member of NCAA Division II's Great American Conference. At Harding, more than 365 athletes compete in 18 intercollegiate sports.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Official transcripts must be submitted to the Office of Admissions.
  • Make a $1,000 registration deposit. (Refundable).
  • Fill out the Residence Hall Preference form and submit it.
  • The $140 housing deposit must be paid (refundable).
  • For non-native English speakers, proof of English competency is required.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a professor and a character reference.
  • Obtain a copy of your immunisation record and submit it.
  • Make a photocopy of your current passport and send it in.
