Stephen F Austin State University is a public institution of higher education located in Nacogdoches, Texas. This university, founded in 1923, is not affiliated with any of the six university systems in Texas. This university's bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees are approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. This institution houses six colleges. The Nelson Rusche College of Business includes a school of accountancy, business communication and legal studies, economics and finance, management and marketing, and a master's degree in business administration. The James I. Perkins College of Education is composed of departments and schools, including the Department of Elementary Education, the Department of Human Services, the Department of Secondary Education & Educational Leadership, and the School of Human Sciences.
