About University of West Florida

The University of West Florida is a public university located in Pensacola, Florida. It was constructed in 1963 as part of the establishment of the Florida State University System.

UWF, headquartered in Pensacola with additional campuses in the surrounding area, has conferred more than 100,000 degrees across more than 90 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes. The small class sizes ensure that students receive individualised, concentrated attention from some of the country's most engaging professors. As the home of the Argonauts, UWF's intercollegiate games programme creates champions for life, leading the Gulf South Conference in total championships and all-sports trophies. As a driver of economic impact in Northwest Florida and beyond, UWF generates approximately $1 billion in annual sales for the entire state of Florida.

UWF is more than a university; it represents progress, dedication to lifelong learning, and transformation. There are approximately 12,588 students enrolled in various programmes at the university, of which 60% are female and 39.99% are male. The University of West Florida offers more than 70 undergraduate degree programmes, graduate degrees in 32 programmes, a specialist degree in one programme, and doctoral degrees in three programmes to meet the educational objectives. Through fully online Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes, Certificates, and global partnerships, students can connect with universal organisations, compete in virtual high-impact experiences, and advance their understanding of culturally diverse groups across time zones. Many students graduate from UWF through online-only programmes. The university offers everything from bachelor's degrees in Special Education and Health Sciences to programmes of the highest calibre in Business, Nursing, Educational Leadership, Public Health, Education, Math, English, Government, and Information.

The financial aid package at UWF consists of a variety of awards based on the student's academic performance and financial need. Scholarships, grants, credits, and government work-study positions contribute to the affordability of a UWF education. A grant is a form of nonrepayable aid that is awarded on the basis of academic achievement, athletic ability, special talents, and sometimes financial need. UWF offers a variety of undergraduate scholarships to both new and continuing students.
