About Webster University

Webster University, founded in 1915, is a private, non-profit institution that provides a healthy learning environment for international students. The university was formerly a women's college founded by the Sisters of Loretto and was among the first Catholic colleges for women west of the Mississippi. In 1962, the college began admitting men. The institution holds official accreditation from The Higher Learning Commission.

The university's main campus is located in Webster Groves. There are numerous other campuses of the university besides this one. It has campuses in Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Thailand, China, and Ghana, among others. Currently, over 22,000 students from 50 states and 148 countries reside on campus. The university offers more than one hundred bachelor's degree programmes and more than sixty master's degree programmes on its home campus and on campuses around the world. It has five schools and colleges that excel in business and technology, arts and sciences, education, communications, and the fine arts.

The institution provides over 50 online undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programmes. The online courses are offered to the same standards as the on-campus programmes. The academic facilities are provided by highly qualified and professional instructors. In addition, the university's athletic teams compete in NCAA Division III and other intercollegiate sports. It publishes The Journal, a student-run newspaper, and The Galaxy, a student-run radio station. In addition, the university publishes a biannual magazine, The Ampersand, in collaboration with students, as well as other departmental publications and e-newsletters.

In addition, the university has produced a number of renowned individuals. It maintains a strong alumni network comprised of graduates who serve global organisations.
