About Wright State University

The founding fathers of Wright State University, Stanley Allyn and Robert S. Oelman, broke construction on Allyn Hall, the university's first structure, in 1963. In September 1964, the campus opened with only 55 teachers and 3,203 students. It was given its current name the next year to honour the Wright brothers. In 1967, the institution was granted independent status. It currently has eight colleges and three schools, as well as Higher Learning Commission accreditation (HLC). The Wright State University campus is 557 acres in size and is located in Dayton, Ohio. The campus is well-equipped, with 71 academic buildings, 33 residential buildings, and a large athletic and entertainment complex.

Two theatres and two concert halls, as well as faculty offices and classrooms, are housed in the Creative Arts Centre. The Nutter Centre, Tom Hanks Centre for Motion Pictures, Neuroscience Engineering Collaboration Building, and Paul Laurence Dunbar Library are all located on campus. Near addition, the institution has a 173-acre branch campus in Celina, Ohio, known as the Lake Campus. Accountancy, physical education, engineering, agriculture, anthropology, art, business, sciences, languages, computer science, social science, media, nursing, pharmacy, and psychology are among the 295 doctoral, graduate, undergraduate, and professional degree programmes offered by the institution. There are 879 full-time and part-time faculty members at the university, as well as over 15,000 students. Foreign students from 65 countries make up 5.3 percent of the student body.
