About OXFORD BROOKES UNIVERSITY

Oxford Brookes University is a public university located in Oxford, England. It commenced as an Oxford School of Art in 1865 and became a university in 1992. It is Oxford's second university, along with Oxford University.

It is one of the leading modern universities in the UK, with an international reputation for teaching excellence, exciting student life and strong ties with local, national and international business and industry.

Brookes has approximately 18,000 students, including 3,200 international students from more than 140 countries.

Oxford Brookes University was named one of the top 50 young universities in the world by the QS World University Rankings in 2018 and 2019 – and is the only university in the United Kingdom to make the list.

Brookes is spread across four campuses, with three primary sites located in and around Oxford and the fourth campus located in Swindon. (Harcourt Hill, Headington, Wheatley, Swindon)

How to Reach? Or Travel

English Language Requirements:

UG:

  • IELTS – 6.0 overall with 6.0 in Reading and Writing, 5.5 in Listening and Speaking.
    • Health and Social Care Courses – 6.5 or 7.0 overall with 6.5 or 7.0 in all components (see individual entries for course details)
    • Nutrition BSc (Hons) – 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each component
    • Law, Architecture, Interior Architecture, English Literature (including combined honours), English Literature and Creative Writing – 6.5 overall with 6.0 in reading and writing, 5.5 in listening and speaking
    • Built Environment Foundation, Computing Foundation, Engineering Foundation – 6.0 with 6.0 in reading and writing, 5.5 in listening and speaking
    • International Foundation Business and Technology, International Foundation Arts, Humanities and Law – 5.5 overall with 5.5 in all skills

PG:

  • IELTS – 6.0 – 7.0 overall with 6.0 in Reading and Writing, 5.5 in Listening and Speaking

TOEFL – 72 overall, with 18 in Reading, 17 in Writing, 17 in Listening and 20 in Speaking.

PTE – 51 overall, with 51 in each module.

The Requirements may Defer for some Programs.

Waiver:

  • Undergraduate – 60% or more in English element of HSC
  • Postgraduate– 60% or more in English element of HSC with academic or professional use of English.
