If you dream of a career as an Audio ProducerStudio EngineerStudio ManagerMastering EngineerLive Sound TechnicianRadio Producer, or if you want to work as a Stage Technician or as a Post-Production Specialist for film and television, the Audio Engineering course is for you.

The Audio Engineering course focuses on teaching students the fundamentals of audio engineering and then developing their skills in a variety of fields, including live sound, recording, producing and post-production. You will be taught and mentored by experienced industry experts who are currently working as live sound technicians, producers, and post-production specialists. You will work with analogue and digital equipment in our cutting-edge facilities. You will master a variety of software and learn in small-sized classes so that you finish the course with a wealth of hands-on experience.

Audio Engineering students also work closely with students from other courses to gain a well-rounded understanding of processes involved in the music industry.

The Bachelor of Arts (Audio Production) will provide students with fundamentals of audio production across live sound, recording, producing and post-production and develops this knowledge to build strong practical skills and a portfolio of work for a career in the audio industry.

Throughout the Degree, you will:

Academic qualification equivalents

  • High school transcripts that demonstrate successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent. These transcripts must be certified and translated (if originals are not in English).

  • IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 6.0) or equivalent (TOEFL or PTE equivalent can also be accepted). Applicants for the Diploma of Entertainment Journalism will require an IELTS 6.5 (no band less than 6.5) or equivalent.
