La Trobe's Bachelor of Finance gives you a comprehensive understanding of corporate finance, investment valuation, economic theory and data analysis. You'll also develop an awareness of the principles of sustainability and entrepreneurship. In your second and third years, you can commence specialized electives such as financial and estate planning, computational finance and mergers and acquisitions.

In addition to the finance major defined within the core subjects of this course you may choose to complete a second major, or one or two minors, instead of completing all nine elective subjects. The majors and minors may be chosen from any on offer in the university, subject to there being no more than eight subjects for a major and four subjects for a minor, and subject to having completed any prerequisite subjects required.

Membership may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree. Entry into a Bachelor Degree program at La Trobe University requires completion of Australian Year 12 (or international equivalent) with certain grade. Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Australia.

Subject prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.
