Mechanical Engineers are adaptable, through knowledge of fundamental principles of science and engineering reinforced with transferable problem solving skills. This course will equip graduates to show initiative, participate actively in teams, manage, organise and communicate effectively. In addition graduates will have a strong sense of ethics and awareness of the social impact of their actions. The Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering course at Dundalk Institute of Technology aims to provide a stimulating environment in which the students’ interest in mechanical engineering is fostered by a modern and flexible teaching and learning strategy.

The External placement module in Year 2 – Semester Two aims to allow students to develop professional skills through an applied experience in various phases of engineering.
