About Biology And Medicine Pre-major in College of the Rockies

Our Biology and Medicine Pre-Major Associate degree helps lay out the courses you may need for the first two years of study toward a degree in Biology. This Associate degree also provides the course prerequisites for admission into the UBC School of Medicine while providing two of the first three required years of study before applying to medical school. General Requirements

This program is designed to facilitate maximum transferability to a full degree program after two years at College of the Rockies.

60 semester credits of first and second year courses. These must include a minimum of 18 credits in Science at the second year level taken in two or more subject areas.

  • 6 credits in first year English
  • 6 credits in Mathematics which shall include at least 3 credits in Calculus
  • 36 credits in Science, which shall include at least 3 credits in a laboratory Science
  • 6 credits in Arts other than English (excluding Mathematics and Laboratory-based Science courses)
  • 6 credits in Arts, Science or other areas

Academic qualification equivalents

  • Completion of All India or State Board HSC (XII): 50% or higher in relevant subjects.

English language requirements (one of the below):

  • IELTS:  Overall 6.0 with no band below 6.0.
  • TOEFL: iBT 80
  • PTE: 50 (minimum 49 in each component)
