About Video Game Design & Development in Toronto Film School

From concept through to production, you will learn the entire game creation process from a faculty of active creators with games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Asteroids, GTA 4 and Max Payne 3 to their credit. In environments replicating the industry, you will explore all areas of video game design and programming for mobile, PC, web and console. You will get a deeper understanding of programming, game design, interface development, production, audio and sound, as well as business plans and commercial strategies. You will graduate with a diverse portfolio of video games that showcase your industry-ready skills.

Intellectual property

You’ll own everything that you create, from art to scripts and games. You’ll have the opportunity to release your games even before you graduate and keep 100% of the profits.

Cross Collaboration

Collaborating with students across creative programs, you’ll experience the real world working environment of cross-industry teams. You’ll produce mid-large scale games with peer designers and programmers. You’ll also produce video game concepts with writing students and voiceovers with acting students.

Real world education

Working with hand-on projects in industry-modeled teams, you’ll build a professional portfolio of medium-large scale video games that will set you apart in the job market. Using the latest technology and software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Unity 3D, Unreal Engine 4 and others.

  • Every student is entitled to a refund of fees paid for a program; however, The Toronto Film School is allowed to retain 20% of the total fees for the program. (whichever is less).

Toronto Film School Application Process

Toronto Film School Canada has the intake month of October. Students must apply well before the time otherwise they would be considered for the next admission cycle.

Applicationfee (non-refundable): CAD 100 for all programs, except for Film Production (CAD 500).

Basic Admission Requirements:

  • An Ontario secondary school diploma (grade 12) or any equivalent.
  • Notarized translated secondary (including any post-secondary) transcripts
  • Mature student test: for a student who is over 18 and is not enrolling directly from secondary school.
