Degree in sports and event management

This field of study combines the essential elements of sports and event management by applying the theoretical basics of sports marketing and sponsoring, management of sports clubs and event organization in a project with the involvement of real clients from practice.

Contents of the course:

After the theoretical and structural basics of sports and event management, you will develop an event plan in groups. By integrating numerous guest lectures and excursions to partners such as the Nürburgring and the SAParena, your project will be implemented in close cooperation with practice. The following content modules are provided for this project work:

  • Basic decisions: Mission statement & goals, choice of legal form, market or location and target group analysis
  • Marketing design: brand management and corporate identity, marketing mix, event sponsoring
  • Organization and personnel management: organizational design and personnel planning in the sports and event sector
  • Financial management: fundamentals of investment and financing, P&L and event-related liquidity planning
