Healthcare is a rapidly growing and constantly evolving sector. MSc Applied Bioscience course encourages the development of specialist cross-disciplinary laboratory skills, such as molecular genetics and bioinformatics, accompanied by an emphasis on professional practice.  Graduates from the MSc Applied Bioscience course will have training to progress into a wide range of careers within the sciences, including industry and academic research, clinical trials, product development, production and quality assurance.

Cambridge is the home of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, the Biomedical Campus at Addenbrooke's Hospital and the Babraham Research Institute. Academic qualification equivalents

  • 3 year Bachelors or 4 year Bachelor Engineering or Technology, minimum division 2 (50% - 59%) in relevant subjects
  • 4 year Bachelor of Laws complying with above for entry to LLM
  • a recognised pre-Masters course

English language requirements

If English is not your first language you'll need to be able to show you have the required level of English language. This is so we can ensure you'll be able to follow your course.

  • Our standard entry criteria for postgraduate taught and postgraduate research courses is IELTS 6.5, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing).
  • ETS TOEFL iBT with 88 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking
  • Pearson PTE with 61 overall and a minimum of 51 in all components.
