About Clinical Psychology Dclinpsy in Lancaster University

The aim in training is to strike a balance between the interests of the individual trainee, formal professional training requirements, academic requirements appropriate for a doctoral level qualification, and the broader and developing needs of a clinical psychologist within the National Health Service.

Placements, academic assignments and detailed research supervision are spread across training and these provide an excellent grounding for individual development. Support is extensive across all aspects of the programme, with innovative placements, a strong publication culture and the opportunity to be involved in all parts of the programme’s development being some of the outstanding features of this training experience.

  • Bachelor's degree at least 3 years in length with at least 60% overall, with at least 55% in each year (year 2 onwards)

English language requirements 

  • IELTS :an overall score of at least 7.0, with a minimum of 6.0 in each element
  • TOEFL IBT: an overall score of at least 94, with a minimum of 19 in reading, 19 in listening, 19 in speaking and 22 in writing
  • PTE: With a score of at least 65 and a minimum of 50 in each component of the test
