What will you study in MSc International Tourism Management?

Located in the Department of Marketing, Branding and Tourism, you will have a unique opportunity to study all three subject areas together and apply this in the context of contemporary tourism management. The study of place branding is at the core of the Departments’ work, with several academics who are leading researchers in this field.

Core modules will help you develop your management knowledge and skills while strengthening your critical awareness of the current socio-economic, marketing and political challenges that will affect your profession. Optional modules provide more specific knowledge and skills alongside deeper insights into management issues facing tourism in specialised contexts. Students will have the opportunity to select four optional modules.

There are three different awards available for this course;

  • PG Certificate route comprises two 30 credit modules
  • PG Diploma route comprises two 30 credit modules and four 15 credit modules
  • MSc route comprises two 30 credit modules, four 15 credit modules and a dissertation

We accept the equivalent of the below qualifications from a recognised overseas qualification.

  • A 2:2 honours degree or above in a tourism-relevant subject, or an equivalent qualification.
  • We also consider candidates with a minimum of three years' work experience in tourism/hospitality who have a degree in a non-relevant subject or a relevant CPD certification.
  • A good first degree from a recognised university or equivalent with minimum 55% or above.

Visa Process for International Students

  • All international applicants need to have the Tier 4 visa clearance for six months.
  • Applicant must be at least 16 years old in order to apply for a Tier 4 visa.
  • Financial and documentation requirements need to be fulfilled by the applicant.
  • Passports, travel documentation and a tuberculosis test result are required when applying for Tier 4 visa.
  • A minimum of 40 points are required for Tier 4.
  • Out of these 40 points, 30 points are for a valid CAS from a Tier 4 sponsor, which will be Middlesex University.
  • 10 points are for financial means for college tuition, living costs and application fee.
  • A CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) is sent to the applicant when he/she is admitted at the university.
  • This CAS contains a reference number that must be stated on the visa application form.
  • The validity of the visa depends upon the duration of the course taken by the applicant.
