About Advanced Pharmacy Practice (with Independent Prescribing) Msc in Queen's University Belfast

Our Advanced Pharmacy Practice programme is designed for hospital-based pharmacists in Northern Ireland who wish to progress to Advanced Practitioner level (AfC Band 8a).

Stage 1 (PG Diploma stage) aims to develop the student's knowledge of therapeutics in several key areas and includes Independent Prescribing (IP) training, delivered by NICPLD.

In stage 2 (MSc stage), students receive training in research and data analysis methods and are required to undertake a service evaluation/development project.

  •  IELTS: 7.0 with minimum of 5.5 in all four elements of the test
  • TOEFL iBT : 95 with minimum marks as follows: Listening - 17,Reading - 18,Speaking - 20

  • PTE: 67 overall  with minimum of 51 in each component
