About Freshwater And Marine Ecology Pgcert in Queen Mary University of London

Considering both freshwater and marine ecosystems and species, this course is designed to equip you with the sought-after practical skills and theoretical understanding needed to pursue a career in aquatic research, consultancy or environmental protection.

An ideal springboard for further study, this engaging programme balances the latest in ecological theory, conservation biology and evolutionary biology with practical application. Alongside lectures, seminars and group discussions, you will be required to undertake field research at Dorset Field Facilities, where you will have access to a range of specialised equipment and have direct contact with leading specialists in the field. 

You will be supervised by research-active scientists, and be a part of their research groups throughout this programme. We support links with a range of NGOs or potential employer organisations and strongly encourage you to publish your project work.

If you successfully complete this postgraduate certificate, you may be eligible for progression onto our MSc in Freshwater and Marine Ecology.
