About Forensic Medicine (intercalated) Bmsc (hons) in University of Dundee

Our Forensic Medicine BMSc will see you develop your knowledge in the area of medicine related to the legal system. You'll learn how medicine and science can be applied to the investigation of death and crime and the legal implications this has. You'll be based at our city campus and at Dundee's police mortuary where you will have the opportunity to observe post-mortems and be taught by case-active forensic medicine specialists.
Due to the wide-ranging nature of the course content, it may be of particular interest if you are looking to work in forensic pathology or medicine or in branches of medicine where victims of abuse are regularly encountered - for example, emergency medicine, general practice or paediatrics.

The skills and knowledge you'll gain on this course will be useful if you are considering pursuing a in forensic or legal medicine post-graduation. You will also gain extra points for academic achievement that could help with applications to foundation training after you graduate from your MBChB or equivalent.
Academic qualification equivalents
- Students must have good results (60% overall) in the CBSE, ISC or leading state board XII Standard exams.
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS: The requirement for most undergraduate and postgraduate degrees is IELTS 6.5 overall with a 6.0 in writing and 6.0/5.5 minimum in the other three components.
- TOEFL (iBT): 88 overall, including at least 21 in Listening, 20 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.
- PTE: 62 overall, including at least 56 in all four skills
