The MSc International Accounting degree is an intensive, one-year full-time programme that allows business graduates to acquire the necessary tools and skills to pursue a successful career in accounting or finance.

This MSc is designed for students wishing to pursue a career in accounting, finance or management. The financial industry is developing rapidly and growing in complexity. Accounting and finance professionals must be able to understand and analyse activity, and be able to anticipate future developments. Thus, a knowledge of accounting, financial systems and markets is vital. This MSc degree examines issues in international accounting, finance and financial markets which have become increasingly important in recent years.

You can choose to study one of the following degrees:

  • MSc International Accounting and Finance
  • MSc International Accounting
  • MSc International Accounting, Management & Strategy

In particular it is designed so you can:

  • Critically evaluate research in accounting and finance
  • Appreciate the links between different aspects of accounting and finance, e.g. financial accounting and reporting, financial management, management accounting and corporate governance
  • Understand key social science research methods
  • Apply a range of research methods to examine a specialist area of accounting and finance
  • Communicate complex and specialised issues clearly and concisely
  • Work intensively on a research-based dissertation

Throughout your studies, we want you to understand the power and limitations of accountancy and financial techniques and how they can help society to function. You’ll be examining the way in which large corporations use their funds to generate income and wealth in an increasingly globalised accounting and reporting environment.
