About Civil And Architectural Engineering in University of Salford

The course is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (Institution of Structural Engineers, Institution of Civil Engineers, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Institute of Highway Engineers) as fully satisfying the educational base for an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or partially satisfying the educational base for a Chartered Engineer (CEng). A programme of accredited further learning can fulfil the educational base for CEng status.

Led by our IStructE award-winning civil engineering team, with strong links with industry, this level course will equip you with advanced skills to work closely with architects and turn their concepts and drawings into real-life.

This course is also available with an integrated masters route.

You will:

  • Develop professional knowledge, design and analytical skills towards Chartered Engineer status
  • Learn about the social, legal and environmental issues associated with senior engineering roles
  • Explore specialist modules such as geotechnical engineering, building envelopes and infrastructure design at an advanced level
  • Complete experiments and project work in specialised engineering laboratories
  • Increase your knowledge and boost your interpersonal skills by including a placement year

Academic qualification equivalents

  • Students who have successfully completed Standard XII examinations will be considered for entry onto our undergraduate degrees across the full disciplinary spectrum.
