About Arts And Humanities (with A Foundation Year) BA (hons) in University of Sussex
Our Arts and Humanities Foundation Year will prepare you to enter Year 1 of a Sussex degree with a head start. You'll gain essential skills in critical analysis, developing arguments and self-expression through a dedicated programme of support and development.

Is a Foundation Year for you?
We welcome students with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences, including:
- those who aren't sure which subject they'd like to specialise in
- those who don't have the right combination of subjects for direct entry into Year 1
- those who don't meet the expected requirements for direct entry into Year 1
- those who are returning to education after some time away.
You will need to demonstrate your potential to do well on a demanding degree, including the potential to succeed in your chosen discipline.

Academic qualification equivalents
- 80% from ISC Indian School certificate of Education (CISCE) or 80% from SSC All India Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE)
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS : 6.5 overall, including at least 6.0 in each component
- TOEFL : 88 overall, including at least 20 in Listening, 19 in Reading, 21 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.
- PTE : 62 overall, including at least 56 in all four skills.
