Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Sussex explores the scientific basis of intelligence in animals and machines.

The course covers the fundamentals of computer science, the principles of adaptive behaviour and intelligent systems, and their applications. You can also apply for a year working in industry.

You can shape your degree to suit your interests, specialising either in technology or in cognitive science – the interdisciplinary study of intelligence and mind.

You’ll study in our £12-million Future Technologies Labs, which include a student-focused hub, teaching labs with suites of high-spec computers, and project workspaces.

Academic qualification equivalents

  • 80% from ISC Indian School certificate of Education (CISCE)  or 80% from SSC All India Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE)

English language requirements (one of the below):

  • IELTS          :          6.5 overall, including at least 6.0 in each component
  • TOEFL        :          88 overall, including at least 20 in Listening, 19 in Reading, 21 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.
  • PTE             :           62 overall, including at least 56 in all four skills.
