About Bsc (hons) Fashion Management in University of the Arts London

The highly reputable BSc (Hons) Fashion Management course, aims to prepare you for a successful career in the complex and competitive global fashion industry. 
This course will challenge you by equipping you with knowledge and skills in product planning, brand management, sustainability, supply chain, business analysis and financial accounting, retail and marketing. It will encourage you to become leaders and innovators in the business of fashion. This course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). 
You will have an opportunity to personalise your learning by following one of two subject paths in Year 2. This will enable you to focus on your preferred specialism developing high levels of knowledge supporting your future career path.

What to expect 


•    The curriculum emphasises financial literacy, data analysis and the application of statistical models as a means to solve problems and make informed decisions. 
•    You will develop a solid grounding in both theoretical and practical approaches to fashion business, buying, merchandising, supply chain and marketing as well as financial and leadership management skills. 
•    You will gain an appreciation of the significance of responding effectively to the constant changes and challenges in global supply and demand.  
•    You will develop entrepreneurial skills and focus on innovative business models.
•    Throughout the course, you will be guided to apply the underlying theoretical principles of fashion management to the fashion industry. 
•    You will develop communication skills through report writing, blogs and presentations. 
•    The course provides an approach to learning that encourages you to work independently and creatively whilst enabling you to develop confidence in becoming a reflective independent learner, strategic thinker and decision maker. 

Work experience and opportunities 

You will have the opportunity to enter external competitions, such as the PRME Essay competition.  

After successful completion of stage 2, you can undertake a Diploma in Professional Studies: Industry, with a Work Placement or Diploma in  Professional Studies: Enterprise. This provides increased industry awareness as well as crucial experience and valuable contacts within the industry. Recent placements have included ASOS, Levis, Ted Baker, Jimmy Choo and Dr Martens, as well as placements abroad in Europe, New York, Australia, India and Hong Kong.

Entry requirements

  • High School leaving examinations - We will consider any High School leaving examinations that are considered to be the equivalent to A-level examinations in the UK.

English language requirements

  • IELTS: 6.0 - 6.5 overall, with no less than 5.5 in each component.
  • TOEFL iBT: 80 - 90 overall.
  • PTE Academic: 51 - 58 (with no less than 51 in each component).
