About E-health in University of West of Scotland

OVERVIEW

Our e-Health course focuses on teaching the advance topics of e-Health including:

  • Connected Health
  • Digital Health
  • Tele-Health
  • m-Health

You will develop your practical skills through a comprehensive understanding of fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience of e-Health technologies within industry and academia.

Modules will focus on planning, analysing, developing, evaluating, deploying, and managing e-Health systems/services for modern day organisations/businesses.

All modules are designed to respect the overarching themes of e-Health, delivering research informed teaching in lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions; other modules will focus on academic, research and ethical practices within a professional environment.

In the course, unique and challenging modules are introduced, for example: Introduction to e-Health; Mobile networks and smartphone applications; Data mining and visualisation.

COURSE DETAILS

Our e-Health course was motivated by the growing importance of e-Health (Connected Health, Digital Health, Tele-Health, m-Health). According to grand view research, the total market size of e-Health will grow to £253 billion by 2022. In addition, the NHS has forecasted the funding gap of £30billion by 2020-2021 that can only be addressed by using smart technologies to reduce the cost.
