OVERVIEW

Our MSc Project Management (International) offers practical experience as well as a strong global perspective to your studies while equipping you with expertise in project management, enabling you to manage global projects and programmes. It is a dual degree award through our partners University of Angers meaning that you upon successful completion of the 17 month course, you will gain the MSc Project Management (International) from UWS and Master's Ingénierie des Systèmes et Management de Projet from University of Angers.

Students undertake the Postgraduate Diploma Project Management at UWS but then proceed to undertake an additional eight months study in France. Classes in France are taught in French but you can sit exams and assignments in English.

Graduates can seek employment as a project manager in a wide field of organisations such as consultancy firms, construction, manufacturing, software development, events and service organisations.

COURSE DETAILS

Our course is taught in both English and French and structured around a number of core taught modules. Classes at University of Angers, in France, are taught in French but you can sit exams and assignments in English.

For the Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) stage, you will study the following core modules:

  • Case Studies in Project Management (core, 20 credits)
  • Postgraduate Research Methods (core, 10 credits)
  • Project Management Fundamentals (core, 20 credits)
  • Project Methodologies and Technologies (core, 20 credits)
  • Project Risk Management (core, 20 credits)
  • Specialist Topics (core, 10 credits)

To complete the PgDip stage, you will select a further 20 credits from the following optional modules:

  • Any UWS module at SCQF level 11 (optional, 10 credits)
  • Change Management and Leadership (optional, 20 credits)
  • Interpersonal Skills & Change Management (optional, 10 credits)
  • Professional Practice (optional, 60 credits)*

To complete the MSc ISMP at University of Angers, you will also study the following three core modules: 

  • Formation Générale 
  • Management de projet 
  • Qualité Logiciel

Successful completion of the PgDip allows you to proceed to the master's module:

  • MSc Project (International) Dissertation (60 credits)

Successfully completing the dissertation results in the award of MSc Project Management (International). from UWS and Master's in Ingénierie des Systèmes et Management de Projet from University of Angers.

* For those students seeking to undertake the Professional Practice element they would undertake the following core module:

  • Professional Practice (60 credits)

Successfully completing this module plus the dissertation results in the award of MSc Project Management (International) (Professional Practice) and Master's in Ingénierie des Systèmes et Management de Projet from University of Angers.
