About Geological Sciences, Emphasis In Engineering Geology, B.s in San Diego State University

The BS in Geological Sciences is designed for students who intend to pursue careers in geology and pursue professional certification as a geologist. The degree is also well-suited to continue studies in geological sciences or associated earth sciences at the graduate level.

The BS in Geological Sciences is structured with a core suite of courses and the option to develop a specialization through pursing an emphasis. Available areas of emphasis are:

Academic qualification equivalents

• Grade transcripts for each grade(9th-12th or 10th -12th grade) Examination Certificates- (either mailed from exam board or secondary institution to SDSU)

English language requirements

• TOEFL

     Score of at least  80 (iBT).

• International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

              Overall band score of the academic test of at least 6.5. 

• Pearson Test of English (PTE)

              Score of at least 58.
