About University of Northampton

Northampton University is a public university based in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England. It became University College Northampton in 1999 and gained full university status in 2005.

It is also among those few universities awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), apart from being the country's leading university to be awarded the 'Changemaker Campus' title in 2012. Equipped with modern facilities, the University opened a new campus of 330 million pounds, called Waterside, in 2018.

More than 1000 foreign students from over 100 different countries enrol with the University of Northampton on an annual basis to undertake various courses. The university provides diverse work openings in categories such as management, research, and IT.

Campus

Universtiy has three sites :

  • Avenue Campus,: just north of the town centre, opposite a large open park known as the Racecourse.
  • Waterside Campus, which opened in September 2018 and is now the main campus for the university.
  • Innovation centre which is opposite to Northampton railway station.

Location Specialities 

Northampton is Northamptonshire's main town; a traditional market town that offers plenty of shopping opportunities-with retail parks and shopping villages that include independent shops and high-street brands. There are also plenty of bars, pubs, and clubs all around the city, and reviews have regularly praised Northampton nightlife. Waterside campus is a short walk from the town centre. The town has a diverse arts and culture scene including a number of theatres, galleries, museums, and concert venues.

Accomodation 

The University of Northampton offers a wide range of accommodation options, including residential and private housing.

University accommodation with just over 1,600 rooms is available at Waterside Campus, the Town Centre, and the Scholars Green Student Village.

The rooms are all equipped with network access and WiFi, as well as 24-hour security and a dedicated support team. Network access is free for all residents.

The St John's residence halls off-campus are a short walk from Waterside campus and have both shared and private accommodation options.

University of Northampton Application Process

Basic Admission Requirements

  1. Certified transcripts of high school/college/university
  2. One reference required
  3. Statement of Purpose depicting the interest of the applicant in the chosen course
  4. MBA applicants must also have a proof of work experience
  5. Arts and design applicant must also submit their portfolio 

The Result of Language Tests for English Proficiency from all the international applicants. The exams valid are IELTS, TOEFL iBT and Pearson PTE. Following are the minimum scores required in IELTS to gain admission:
