About New York University

New York Institution (NYU) is a private research university in New York City that was founded in 1831. It is one of the country's largest private higher education institutions. The university is well-known for its social science, fine arts, nursing, and dentistry undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Students from 133 countries, including every state in the United States, are welcome at the university. It has expanded from a student body of just 158 to more than 50,000 students now. Not only that, but the university got 79,462 applications for its undergraduate programmes last year, making it the first university in the United States to do so. Aside from a large quantity of research funding, the university also provides major financial aid to students.

The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest of New York University's schools and colleges. The Tisch School of the Arts, which offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in dance, acting, film, television, and dramatic writing, is also part of the complex. Other graduate programmes include the Silver School of Social Work, Stern School of Business, School of Law, School of Medicine, and Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Recruiters are interested in its graduates, as evidenced by its high ranking in the Graduate Employability Rankings 2017.

The complex, which spans 230 acres and includes more than 171 structures, stretches between Manhattan and Brooklyn. The Times Higher Education and Educational Ranking of World Universities ranked NYU among the top 30 universities in the world in 2018. New York University employs around 19,000 people, making it one of the city's largest employers. WNYU, the student radio station that streams online and broadcasts on a local FM channel to the university community, is one of more than 300 student organisations on campus. The university has campuses in New York, Shanghai, and Abu Dhabi, as well as affiliates in 25 countries across the world.
