The University at Buffalo (UB) is the largest institution in the State University of New York system, having been founded in 1846. It is a public university with a research and creative activities focus. The university is a member of the Association of American Universities, a distinguished organisation with only 62 members. The University at Buffalo is one of the country's top 40 public universities. It has schools and colleges for arts and science, architecture and planning, law, management, nursing, education, dental medicine, social work, pharmacy, and pharmaceutical sciences, among others.More than 125 undergraduate degree programmes and 320 master's, doctoral, and combination degree programmes are available. Students here have a variety of options for studying abroad.

UB offers three major campuses in the lovely state of New York: North Campus: Suburban Academic Center in Amherst, South Campus: Classic Neighborhood Setting in Buffalo, and Downtown Campus: Dynamic Urban Presence in Buffalo. The North Campus is the largest of the three and houses the majority of the university's academic offerings. It contains cutting-edge research and academic facilities, as well as apartments, athletic facilities, residence halls, and administrative offices. The South Campus is located within a residential neighbourhood on 153 acres. Its teaching and research facilities, as well as residence halls, are world-class.The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is housed in the Downtown Campus, a high-tech structure.
