The University of Michigan—Dearborn was established in 1959 as a public university. The University of Michigan—Dearborn, located on the suburbs of Detroit, was founded in 1956 on property donated by Ford Motor Company. The Henry Ford Estate, which was home to the automotive pioneer and his wife and is now a National Historic Landmark, is located on the school's campus. University of Michigan Dearborn Application Process
