About Master Of Business Administration (with Work Placement) MBA in University of Northampton

The Master of Business Administration is a globally recognised postgraduate qualification for ambitious, motivated graduates. If you aspire to be a business professional and do not have any previous business or management experience studying our MBA will allow you to achieve this.

This course is available on a Full Time basis with a September and January intake.

Course Details

Studying our MBA course will support your career progression by developing your critical thinking and research skills and enhancing your business knowledge and understanding.

You will learn to think laterally, challenge convention and offer informed solutions to business issues. You will gain valuable skills that will set you apart from colleagues, allowing you to progress to your full career potential.

This course is similar to our Master of Business Administration however, you can elect to participate in a Work Placement – completing the modules ‘Career Futures: Employability Skills’ and ‘Work-Based Project’. The year in industry will develop your real world experience and you will undertake an applied research project that identifies and provides a response to an industry specific problem.

Your placement will last between six and 12 months, it will need to be appropriate to your level of study and you should also be paid for this work. We will support you in finding and securing a suitable placement opportunity, however it must be noted that placements are highly competitive and there is no guarantee of a placement offer being made by an employer.

Whilst on a work placement you will attend two full-day workshops held at the university, and complete a work-based project on the organisation in which you are working.

Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 7 Diploma and affiliate membership

Throughout the course of study and 12 months after graduation The CMI is the leading management organisation in the UK with a developing reputation across the world. Membership provides significant benefits in networking, access to information and research. You will receive a CMI Level 7 Diploma and affiliate membership (included as part of your course fees) throughout the course and this will continue to be valid for 12 months after you have graduated.

*Only applicable to students studying MBA (with Work Placement) full-time on campus directly through The University of Northampton.

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Award

***Optional – membership and/or examination fees not included as part of course fees.
